Terms of use and sale

Plain-English terms for using rulemind.co.uk and buying our digital products. Please read them before you buy. Last updated 29 September 2026.

1. Who we are

rulemind.co.uk is run by Marian Mihaies, a sole trader in England, trading as RuleMind ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].

2. Using the site

The guides, maps, calculators and checklists are general information to help you understand UK rules. They are not legal, tax, financial or health and safety advice. Rules change, so always check the official source we link to before you act. We are not connected to GOV.UK, HMRC, HSE, TfL, any council or any toll operator.

3. Buying from us

  • You must be 18 or over to buy. You confirm this before paying.
  • Prices are in pounds sterling and are the total you pay. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Our contract with you starts when your payment is confirmed and we issue your licence key (and download link, where there is one). We email you a confirmation with your key.
  • We can refuse or cancel an order if a price was clearly wrong or we suspect fraud. If we do, we refund you in full.

4. Your licence

  • When you buy, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the product. You don't buy the software or the files themselves.
  • Solo licences are for one person. Team of 5 licences are for up to five people in the same business. Each key works on the number of devices stated when you buy.
  • Download packs (spreadsheets, letters, templates, the RAMS pack) can be edited and used as often as you like in your own work or business.
  • Each download is made for you and marked with your email address and order number. Download links work 3 times each within 14 days; you can ask for fresh links, sent to your purchase email only, at rulemind.co.uk/downloads.
  • You may not share your key publicly, resell or give away the products or files, or pass them off as your own product.
  • We may update the tools. Your licence covers the tool as it is, with the updates we choose to release. There is no promise of future features.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Everything we sell is digital content: software you use in your browser, or files you download.

  • Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you would normally have 14 days to cancel. For digital content that right ends once supply starts, if you agreed to that.
  • Before you pay, you ask for immediate access and confirm that you understand you lose the 14-day right to cancel once your licence key or files are issued. We confirm this in your order email.
  • This means we do not give refunds if you change your mind, or if the product is not what you hoped for but works as described. That is why every tool has a free demo and every pack has a free example file: please try them first.
  • If your payment went through but no key was issued, contact us and we will either issue it or refund you in full.

6. If something is wrong

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn't, email [email protected] with your order details. We will fix or replace it, and if we can't do that within a reasonable time you are entitled to a full or partial refund. If you open a payment dispute or chargeback, the licence is suspended while it is resolved.

7. The tools and templates

  • Your data stays on your device. Surveys, snag lists, photos and entries are saved in your browser, not on our servers. You are responsible for keeping backups (use the backup file in Settings). If you clear your browser data or lose the device, we can't recover it.
  • RAMS and paperwork templates are a starting point. You remain responsible for making sure each document fits the real job, site, people and law, and for having it checked by a competent person where needed. The same applies to landlord letters and tax spreadsheets.
  • Figures such as tax dates, charges and deadlines are checked against official sources but can change. Check before you rely on them.

8. Fair use

Every file you download is marked with your email address and order number and can be traced back to you. Sharing, uploading, copying for others or reselling our products or files breaches these terms and our copyright. If we find a shared or resold copy we will cancel the licence it came from without refund and take legal action where appropriate, including claims for damages.

Please don't try to break, copy, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer or get around the licence checks of the site or tools, or use them for anything unlawful. We can suspend a licence that is shared publicly or misused, after telling you why.

9. Copyright and ownership

© 2026 RuleMind. The site design, text, tools, code, templates and the RuleMind name and logo belong to us, apart from the material below. All rights reserved except the licence in section 4.

  • Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
  • Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), Protomaps and Natural Earth. Postcode districts contain OS data and Royal Mail data © Crown copyright and database right.
  • Fonts: Newsreader, IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono under the SIL Open Font Licence.

If you think something on the site infringes your rights, email us and we will look at it promptly.

10. Our liability

  • We don't exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  • If you buy as a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We are not responsible for business losses (lost profit, lost contracts, business interruption) if you use a product for work.
  • Otherwise our total liability to you for any product is limited to the price you paid for it.
  • The free information on the site is provided without charge and "as is". We are not responsible for decisions you make from it without checking the official source.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version on this page when you buy applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first: most problems are sorted by one email.
